Folamour - "I Know It Has Been Done Before" (7:52)
Roberto S - "In Flight" (4:58)
Review: Averaging a release a year since launching 2016, super cool silky disco label Noire & Blanche kick into a new year nice and early with their biggest release to date; a full-bodied six-tracker from some of wryest of artists. Smooth, dusky jams in all directions, highlights include previous Noire & Blanche wiseguys such as Tell, who follows up his last EP with the near P-funk levels of groove on "Endless Love", and Folamour who goes all out orchestral disco on "I Know It Has Been Done Before". Elsewhere A Vision Of Panorama apply full Balearic flavours to the balmy beauty of "Wind, Brass & Bells" and Too Smooth Christ takes us right back down the Trax to 88. All this and plenty more, could this be a sign Noire & Blanche may be releasing a few more records this year. We hope so.

Deepah - "Ahh, Come On" (5:03)
Folamour - "Brothers Since The First Day" (6:06)
Housecore - "No More Doubts" (6:01)
Rhythm&Soul - "New Dayz" (6:10)
Review: Spain's Luvdancin label is notorious for releasing new and exciting talent in the house game, and they've done it again with this latest collaborative effort from four rising producers. Deepah calls the shots on the A1 - the man is a young house maverick from France - and delivers a Detroit-flavoured house twister in the for of "Ahh, Come On"; the lesser known Folamour also indulges in some quality, laid-back deep house on "Brothers Since The First Day". For the B-side, newcomer Housecore goes for the rawer approach on "No More Doubts", and Paris' Rhythm&Soul aka Joaquin Diaz funks his way through a tight house groove on "New Dayz". Wonderful little DJ tools..!

Folamour - "Love Frequencies" (6:12)
LB Aka Labat - "Your Ass Gotta Go" (7:19)
Tochigi Canopy - "Gulf Ressac" (7:20)
Review: Moonrise Hill Material has an interesting mission statement. The French label says that it is dedicated to "poetic house music", a deliciously open-ended concept that's open to all sorts of interpretations. In the case of this EP - a multi-artist affair featuring label regulars and newcomers - that largely means chunky club tracks that doff a cap to classic disco and boogie. There are deviations from the blueprint, of course - see the dub-flecked tropical house slinkiness of Tochigi Canopy's "Gulf Ressac", or the Andres-ish loop jazziness of LB aka Labat's "Your Ass Gotta Go" - but it's likely most DJs will reach for the celebratory positivity of Etheyne and Folamour's party-starting A-side cuts.

Review: French deep house superstar Folamour is back with a new album which confirms his status as a one of the leading lights in the top tier of the scene - an artist who can craft music which reaches beyond the dancefloor to become something more universal. As ever, there's a broad sweep of sounds he embraces on Manifesto from the sentimental cosmic disco strains of 'Isla Nostalgia' to the open-hearted club-pop charm of 'Amore' with Baccus delivering a catchy vocal turn on top. There's deeper cuts to be savoured like the slinky title track with Jungle By Night on guest duties too, making this a fully realised album experience which will bring sunshine into your life whenever you need it.

Review: Folamour's ascent to a major label makes perfect sense. He has a richly detailed, musical house sound that appeals to a much wider audience than many. On his latest album, The Journey, The French producer tells an autobiographical tale, capturing moments spent on the road, in airports and hotels. He lays out the highs and lows that come with that with a series of inspired, emotive tracks that range from Afro-tinged, summer festival house tunes like 'The Journey' to more jazz tinged downbeat mood pieces like the gorgeous 'Latecoere.' Album's as warm and comforting as this will always be welcome additions to your shelves.

Review: The second album from fast-rising French producer Folamour follows the formula explored on his previous Moonrise Hill Material releases, with the producer accompanying a range of dusty, sample-heavy deep house treats with a smattering of soulful and evocative, MPC style beat workouts. Happily, there's little in the way of flabby filler, just a wealth of material heavily influenced by soul, jazz and disco. Highlights include, but aren't limited to, the huggable, head-nodding hip-hop soul of "Kickflippin' That Stuff", the woozy electronic jazz of "Jah Love", the Theo Parrish/Andres style warm and jazzy house of "Look At Me Or I'll Steal Your Eyes" and the full-throttle, disco-house hustle of "Ivoire".

Look At Me Or I'll Steal Your Eyes (Byron The Aquarius remix) (4:47)
Review: If you've yet to check Folamour's superb debut album, Umami, do yourself a favour and check it out sharpish. Here a quartet of artists offer up fresh rubs of some of their favourite jams from the criticallu acclaimed full-length. Glassy-eyed Balearic deep house specialists Session Victim kick things off with a brilliantly breezy, melodious and positive rework of "Devoted To U", before Sheffield-based East Midlander Thatmanmonkz goes all jazz-funk on a sweet and rolling revision of "Y'all Right". The EP's most obviously peak-time take arrives at the start of Side B, where Austin Ato serves up a sax-wielding take on "Ivoire" that seems to have boundless energy, before Byron The Aquarius steals the show with a sublime tech-soul-meets-deep-house interpretation of "Look At Me Or I'll Steal Your Eyes".

Jazz Session For No Future People (6:25)
Melophrenia (6:10)
Janvier In Bed (2:28)
Review: There's a case to say that Folamour has yet to put a foot wrong in 2017. Over the year to date, he's released killer EPs on All City, Moonrise Hill Material and Roots For Bloom, as well as contributing fine tracks to a number of other 12" singles. Predictably, this outing on Church is also hotter than the sun. "Jazz Session For Future People" is a killer chunk of life-affirming jazz-house bounciness that offers a near perfect balance between rolling dancefloor funk and intricate musicality, while "Melophrenia" is a supremely smoky slab of ultra-deep wooziness. Arguably best of all, though, is the hip-hop tempo synthesizer Balearica of "Janvier In Bed", which may well be his most tactile and glassy-eyed cut to date.

Maybe I Did Burn Ya Place (8:22)
Each Day Is The First Day (6:02)
Review: Moonrise Hill Material co-founder Folamour makes his first appearance on Dublin's All City imprint, in the process delivering one of the most pleasingly positive deep house cuts we've heard for some time. "Shakkei" is marked out by wonderfully flowing piano lines of the kind that once turned "Strings of Life" into an all-time anthem. These combine wonderfully with the producer's loose-but-heavy, drum machine rich groove and near Balearic chord progressions. It's something of a stunner, all told. Elsewhere, Folamour explores deeper and dreamier pastures on "Maybe I Did Burn Ya Place", before reaching for the Roy Ayers style vibraphone, cheeky jazz-funk samples and Andres-esque grooves on "Each Day Is A Frist Day".

Reflets Sur L'eau (6:07)
Review: Moonrise Hill Material co-founder Bruno Boumedil has enjoyed a successful 2016 to date, releasing fine material under the Folamour alias for a variety of labels. Here he helps launch the Make Believe label with a trio of tasty deep house cuts. There's a definite Andres feel to the jazzy, loose, warm and bumpin' opener "Whateva Sis", with winding horn lines and plucked electric guitars riding a rich drum rhythm. This vibe is explored further on the sample-rich deep house shuffle of "Dream To Love", while epic flipside "Reflets Sur L'Eau" sees him make merry with hazy, melodies build-ups, chiming melody lines, and fizzing, cymbal-heavy percussion.

You Never Told Me I’ll Miss U That Much (7:08)
Review: Noire & Blanche is a new sub-label from long established French imprint Delicieuse Records, whose catalogue is full of slinky deep house gems. EP number one comes from sometime Fauxpas Musik and Moonrise Hill Material producer Folamour, and features five loose, toasty tracks. Folamour excels at combining live instrumentation, choice samples, and swinging deep house beats. This is particularly evident on the glistening "You Never Told Me I'll Miss U That Much" (check the evocative guitar parts and hazy chords), but can also be heard on the soulful loop-jam "When U Come Into My Life", and superb opener "Lampadaire". Arguably best of all, though, is "Just Another Lonely Night Eating Sushi", which manages to be both bittersweet and strangely heartwarming.

Review: Smooth and sultry deep house for fans of Dessous and Freerange on offer here from Berlin's Fauxpas Music and new signee, Frenchman Folamour. On the A side are "Chapeaux Rouge" and "Baise En Ville" respectively. Up tempo, dancefloor effective numbers which feature all the right elements; lush Rhodes piano and pitched down female vocals with flanged guitars and a swing fuelled rhythm section to boot. What more do you want? Well the B side starts with "Lost between Friendly Fires" which is a deeper, slow motion affair for the afterhours, as is "Walking to the Macadam" with its sombre keys and orchestral samples perfect for the drive home.

Review: Coming at you on vibrant pink vinyl, Better Listen's First Class EP more than lives up to its' title. Check, for example, the screaming sax lines, life-affirming orchestral disco loops and bumping bottom end of Folamour's brilliant opener, "Oneness", and the bouncy disco-house positivity of Ari Bald's edit-not-edit "First Class", which is guaranteed to put smiles on faces on out on the dancefloor. Dorsi Plantar successfully tries the same trick on to woozy, ultra-soulful bliss of swirling sunshine shuffler "Boogie Sunrise", while Ethyene's undulating "Watching You" brilliantly wraps eyes-closed synthesizer lines and glistening disco guitars around a leisurely mid-tempo house groove.

Review: Folamour's brand new label is For Heaven Use Only... But don't worry - we won't tell him if you play them at any dancefloor in the real world. The Moonrise Hill hero takes the lead with a lush brushed drum tropical boogie cut that's all light in the synths and woozy in the horns while Lo Life sedates us to the very soul with the lush and loopy "Gucci Tennis 84". Wrapping up the second side we have a Carter-level boompty tub-thumper "Baciami Subito" from Kaffe Creme and an energised jazz techno jam from Marc Bianco that features the slipperiest fretless bass runs this side of Azymuth HQ.

Review: Folamour was responsible for one of the dreamiest, most colourful deep house records of recent times - the brilliant Shakkei EP on All City - so hopes are naturally high for this excursion on the producer's recently launched FHUO Records. He kicks off proceedings with the thrillingly addictive "Very First Touch", where dreamy pads and looped party samples cluster around a snappy, jazz-fuelled house groove, before ratcheting the energy levels up a notch or two via the rubbery slap bass, driving drum machine beats and warm Rhodes chords of "Alerte a Babylon". In between, you'll find Pravis' "L'Estaque", a stomping deep house floor-burner blessed with some seriously good, jammed-out electric piano solos.

Review: In tribute to Record Store Day, the Diggin Disco Deep crew has put together what could be its tastiest 12" yet. Pressed on squeaky clean white vinyl, volume five in the series boasts cuts from some of the edit scene's best-loved talents. Lipski kicks things off with the blissfully wavy loops and languid Balearic house grooves of "Magical Luv", before the Silver Rider hits the mark via the softly spun nu-disco goodness of "Madness". On the flip you'll find EP highlight "When She Moves, I'm Moved" by Folamour, a sax-laden shuffle through deep house/disco fusion that sneakily pays tribute to a wedding party favourite, and the head-in-the-clouds deep house bump of Gari Romalis and Lello di Franco's "Luv Game".
