Review: American rap icon Eminem released his 11th studio album in January 2020. It was a surprise at the time and has since grown to be loved by fans and critics alike. Production was taken care of by Dr Dre, amongst other producers, with guests like Ed Sheeran, Anderson .Paak and Q-Tip making it a star studded affair. The Deluxe Edition Side-B came in December with sixteen new tracks. Tracks find Eminem in fine lyrical form and as dexterous as ever, with playful and surreal ideas served up with famous braggadocio.

Review: Wow, 20 years has gone by since Eminem changed the game with his "Slim Shady" LP. To mark the occasion, this anniversary edition is freshly expanded with 10 bonus tracks that include rarities, a cappella versions, freestyles and instrumentals. It was the iconic rapper's major debut that didn't dampen down his raw spirit and attitude. Anthems like "My Name Is" still bang, "97' Bonnie & Clyde" finds him at his vengeful and most bile-filled best and just about everything else confirms his reputation as one of the most pointed and dangerous lyricists in the game.

Rewind back to 2003, and life was very, very different - not least as Eminem was still considered a young upstart who needed to prove some stuff to the hip hop establishment, with the movie in question going some way to retelling his own story about going up against haters and coming out on top.
Of course, he was already one of the biggest rap artists on the planet by this point, but still fell in line for criticism over the juvenile nature of many tracks. Amalgamating some of the most respected MCs on one track list - all of who evidently give a seal of approval by contributing to this soundtrack - is certainly one way to prove legitimacy. Nas, 50 Cent, Rakim, Gang Starr, and Jay-Z help make this one of the genre's finest scores of all time.
