  1. Grand Master Duff
  2. Slow
Review: Mr Duff returns to his Disco alias with two typically lackadaisically paced edits of familiar jams - if you can't figure out the source material from the titular clues and sound clips then back to music history night classes with you! "Grandmaster Duff" teases out the classic strains with the sort of expertise you'd expect from the Duff, whilst all manner of dubbing and delay utilised in the name of fun. On the flip, this nation's favourite Australian sees one of her most ubiquitous tracks almost ground to a halt and married with one of house music's most famous hooks (which has been equally slowed down).

  1. All Good (In Duff's Hood)
  2. Dusty
Review: Since Duff Disco's first outing on his own label in 2010 he's been noted by edit masters like Greg Wilson and The Revenge for the quality of his music and his latest EP, All Good (In Duff's Hood), is no exception. The title track is an unhurried, sexy rhythm, and lethargic stabs have a ton of space to manoeuvre around a full bodied but muffled bass tone. "Dusty" nails that very particular fuzzy sound of needle on wax, interspersing the shuffling percussion with a soulful progression of piano keys. The sun-rise textures shed warm light against your face while you slowly sway back and forth on a deserted beach.

  1. A Little More Love
  2. You Shoulda Known
Review: Jeremy Duffy has been making music in one shape or form for a few years now, but is perhaps best known for the edit based material released under the Duff Disco name. A new year sees Duffy resurface under this moniker with a new label of the same name, launched as an outlet for his original, house based material. Both cuts here align neatly with the current trend for streamlined deepness, dipping and rising with precision execution; if you close your eyes when "You Should Know" is gliding across the speakers it's almost like you've been transported to The Nest on a Saturday night at 2am. More of this Duffy.

  1. I Need Ya
  2. I Need Ya (Eddie C's Sober Summer remix)
  3. Alive
  4. Alive (James Johnston's Junk Funk mix)
Review: Rising UK producer Duff Disco demonstrates his talent with this breakout release on French imprint Composite after gaining exposure thanks to a series of edits on his own imprint. The title track "I Need Ya" is a sumptuous slice of deep not disco house which is dominated by a spell bindingly psychedelic main synth hook. Eddie C is enlisted to remix the track and it's a sterling soulful effort from the Canadian but it can't match the euphoric delight of the original. Check the flip for "Alive" a deeper number in line with Mark E's finest moments that adds some fine delay effects to main melodies.

  1. How We Do
  2. I Remember
  3. Sunshine
Review: Having launched in fine if unfamiliar style with the debut sounds of South Coast types Zoo Look, Tenth Circle look to a more familiar name in the shape of Duff Disco for their second release. Whilst some might not warm to the name or the similarly charged Duffstep alias, you can't deny the quality of production that runs through every Duff Disco release, from the cheeky Skee-lo edits to more original works. That quality is evident here as Duffy presents three arrangements primed for the summer months - most notably the shimmering euphoria that characterises the opening gambit "How We Do". Alongside that "I Remember" adopts a lolloping beatdown gait, with heavily dosed rhythms swamped deep in the mix before suddenly launching into a chugging refrain that sits expertly between dubbed out house and disco. On the flip "Sunshine" adopts a similarly weighty approach to layered rhythms but splays it over an infectiously hypnotic warm house groove.

  1. Feed The Horse (5:47)
  2. The Heat (7:54)
  3. You & Nothing Else (6:55)
Review: London's Jeremy Duffy has been dishing out stone-cold disco-house killers for the last five years, and he's definitely earned his place as one of the British capital's and most fun and dance-centric producers. He's always released on his own Duff Disco imprint, but here we see him pop up on the ever-impressive Home Tape Is Killing Music with three hot tunes - "Feed The Horse" is a playful, squelchy house burner for everyone to enjoy, "The Heat" is deeper and a little more Chicago-leaning thanks to its sublime bass, and "You & Nothing Else" takes care of the funky element. A crafty and recommended house EP.

  2. We Play - "The Music We Play" (Mam remix)
  3. Larse - "So Much Fun"
  4. Andi De Luxe - "Boobsie Collins"
Review: Dikso, that rightly revered Berlin branch of the international network of vinyl tweakers, unveil their fifth EP of pan European disco meets house moments which commences in fine form with the ubiquitous Duff Disco. The London based producer is cranking up the heat and delivers a finely poised deep house bump on "I Want You" with the glowing chords and delicate keys riding the muscular house groove with real aplomb. The surfeit of angelic cooing that gently ripples in the nether regions has the requisite emotive effect and the belated arrival of some twisting acid just demonstrates his variety. Alongside this, "The Music We Play" from We Play - the latest alias of two producers with far too many to list - gets a French House revision from Leeds based Mam which dovetails nicely with the loose boogie joint that is "So Much Fun" from German producer Larse. Dikso's own Andi De Luxe makes his belated label appearance to round off proceedings with the low slung beatdown sounds of "Boobsie Collins".

  2. Duff Disco - "Always On My Mind" (6:38)
  3. Buzz Compass - "U Deserve It" (6:01)
  4. Get Down Edits - "Hey (Whats Happening)" (5:46)
Review: On this latest must-have missive, the Editorial crew has assembled an all-star cast of re-editors and house-loving disco rework merchants. Thrillingly, it contains a now rare outing from slo-mo specialist Duff Disco, whose atmospheric, beatdown style chugger "Always on My Mind" is undoubtedly one of the best things he's released in years. Props, too, to Irish disco-house specialists Get Down Edits, who weigh in with the warm and summery grooves of "Hey (What's Happening)". Elsewhere, Buzz Compass subtly beefs up and filters out a sleazy disco favourite on the constantly rising "U Deserve It", while Ed Wizard and Disco Double Dee get the party started in their inimitable style via a touch of disco/hip-hop fusion ("Moonlite").

  3. Nick Beringer - "With Every Touch"
  4. Sek - "Hell Yeah!"
Review: Swiss label Morris Audio offers a new various artist sampler featuring tracks by JMX, Duff Disco, Nick Beringer and Sek. Inspired chord and synth shots in the breakdown of JMX's "Gotta Be" create a cessation of pappy atmospheres that lift in excitability once the beat returns, while Duff Disco's "Come Home" settles the A-side with head nodding drums and pads that feel as soft and sweet as wispy fairy floss. It's Nick Beringer fourth appearance on a new label and he supplies "With Every Touch", a Ralphi Rosario inspired house jam. Newcomer Sek takes the EP into pumping techno territory with a dubby and Shed-like "Hell Yeah".

  2. Duff Disco - "Burning Hot" (6:05)
  3. Hotmood - "I Was Born In Mexico" (6:18)
  4. Alex Zuiev - "I Feel Funky" (6:23)
Review: While most Editorial EPs feature contributions from a range of high-flying re-editors, their latest collection of cuts boasts a particularly star-studded line-up. For example, it features a now rare outing from Jeremy Duffy under the familiar Duff Disco alias, a gently rolling disco-soul revision called "Burning Hot" that underpins a suitably glassy-eyed cut with his trademark soft-touch house drums. More up-tempo fare can be found on side B, where Hotmood's disco-funk rearrangement "I Was Born In Mexico" - think restless slap bass, eyes-shut guitar solos, bouncy drums and rising horns - is joined by the razor-sharp disco-funk sweatiness of Alex Zuiev's "I Feel Funky". Arguably best of all, though, is Ed Wizard and Disco Double Dee's woozy, sample-heavy disco roller "Spirit Power".
