Review: Finish copy promo. This is the third of six singles that make up the 'Through The Looking Glass' album and these tracks in particular
find Dom returning to the more rolling style of his work. Both share a hypnotic industrial vibe. 'Half Life' fielding machine noise, nervy
bleeps and swooping FX over quick fire bass, super low sub and steppa beats. While its melancholic piano and deep bass. 'Glow
Bug' puts a more dreamy spin on the unearthly vibe. Fans of Virus, No U Turn, Break and quality dnb action need this. DJ support
from Hive, Gridlok, Bailey...

just as essential. Blistering beats and a maelstrom of mutated bass, DJ friendly and rolling to full effect. Big.

Review: Jungle veteran Dom Angus has been around the block a fair few times in the last 17 years. Here he recalls his formative years with an album inspired by the halcyon years of drum and bass: the 1990s. Unlike previous sets, this fifth full-length is an entirely solo effort. Cut free from collaborators, Angus is able to fully let loose in his own inimitable style. In practice, this means a loose, rough-and-collection of growling bangers that gleefully harks back the jungle's golden age whilst retaining one eye on contemporary dancefloors. For those who've followed his career to date, The Big Bang is a refreshing blast from the past.

Review: In advance of Dom's hotly anticipated forthcoming long player, he has offered up this taster and all bodes well. Having been at the forefront of the darker strain of D&B for many years, he continues the theme with this pair of absolute smashers. "Flux", meanwhile, is simply nasty. Relentless, pounding drums and all manner of dirty growliness mark this one out as a real darkside anthem. "2084" is no less forgiving, an almost gentle intro reeling you in before giving way to a monster drop which will have you checking under the bed. Just keep the lights on and you'll be fine.

  1. Remember Your Rootz
  2. Freeze
Review: Yes! Dominic Angas returns with his first Dom & Roland transmission of 2014 and many will be glad to hear it contains the monumental exercise in Amen murder known as "Remember Your Roots". Slammed in the club by the likes of Goldie, Audio, Break, and Klute, there's been the usual online clamour for "Remember Your Roots" since it first appeared on the Metalheadz Rinse show in December. And rightly so, as it kicks like a farmyard full of mules wearing steel toe capped footwear, but amidst the Amen filled onslaught, rumbling bass lines and that staccato riff, it's Dom's implementation of classic samples that rams home where his roots are! Don't sleep in the B Side either as "Freeze" is every bit as potent a dancefloor cut, a classic arrangement of strings and breakbeats that's befitting of spinnage at the iconic Metalheadz residency at Blue Note.

  2. Zodiak (5:56)
Review: Catch these limited gold vinyls and take a big bite of history while you're at it as Dom rolls out a series of some of his most sought after dub plates from golden era. We rewind to 97 for these, both made with Headz in mind and hammered by the biggest names at Blue Note, they speak for themselves; "Aliens" is a brutally dense weave of alien textures and tones while "Zodiac" licks with a little more toxic funk in the bass and sharpness on the chiselled two-step. You can literally feel the heritage heaviness as it pours from your speakers.

  1. DMT (feat Hive) (6:24)
  2. Inna Soul Jah (6:40)
Review: After a five year wait, a new Dom & Roland album is set to land this month. His seventh in total, and first on Metalheadz, Last Refuge Of A Scoundrel is one of his most remarkable bodies of work during his illustrious 22 year career and it features outstanding, boundary-pushing tracks like this. "DMT" is classic Bluenote badness - ruthlessly rule free and sprung in pent up energy and aggression. "Inna Soul Jah" continues the furious funk with a cymbal-heavy palette of drums that sounds like no other producer's on this planet. And this barely scratches the surface of the album's depth and weight.

  1. The Trap (5:46)
  2. Swarm (6:08)
Review: The second instalment of his Dubs From The Dungeons series, Dom & Roland presents two more Blue Note era exercises that were criminally never released. The object of a 20 year transglobal DAT hunt, 'The Trap' is a cold necksnapper techstep gem that was once the sole preserve of Grooverider at the peak of his game. "Swarm", meanwhile, takes a more smouldering approached with iced out atmospheres gradually building until a hornets nest bassline creeps in stealthily and menacingly stings your very senses. We have it on good authority more DFTD dispatches are coming very soon too.

  1. Electric Smile
  2. Hear My Call
Review: This is the tribal track has been rinsed on plate by the likes of Pendulum, Dieselboy, Hive, Gridlok, Klute, and too many other top DJ's to mention. Dom has kept the essence very simple on this one, meticulously crafting instrumentation samples, (courtesy of 'Asian Dub Foundation') into this deep drum and bass roller of gargantuan proportions. Bass riffs bounce off each other under the powerful command of the searing vocals hypnotising the listener into a delirious trance like state. AA: Electric Smile - Dom & Roland is more of a drum and bass song than average track. It has a distinctly old skool feel reminiscent of the Metalhead's blue note era of the late 90's. It starts with magnificent piano chords and strings entwined with sultry yearning vocals. At the end of the second verse the song climaxes as you are plunged into the chorus-like 'drop' of the tune. This features Dom's largest bass sound yet to date; a catchy vocal hook and his trademark stepped amen push the song into its next phase. For the next verse, sounds take the place of vocals, further engrossing the listener, the chorus is then re-visited before the song ends as spectacularly as it has begun. Even ya 'granny' could appreciate this one.

  2. U Do Voodoo
Review: Dom & Roland's "Can't Punish Me" is a d&b classic, revolving around a sample from David Bowie's "Let's Dance". Now Dom remixes the track, keeping the heart and soul of the original. Female vocals sing the title as the production moves through trademark solid drums, edgy distortion and cunning drops. On the flip Dom unleashes the full intensity of "U Do Voodoo", a pummelling roller with a deadly pulsating sub, hypnotic groove, and militant beats. This must be heard.

  2. Boogie Down
Review: Dom & Roland has just finished his fourth album titled 'Through the Looking Glass'. His finest album to date, it includes 12 solo works
from the tech step pioneer himself. These will be released on six separate 12"s over the coming months and a double cd (including all
the previous DRP releases so far.) on March 7th '08. Dom & Roland has been at the forefront of the Drum and Bass scene for nearly
15 years.
Formally signed to Moving Shadow, he has released three critically acclaimed albums to date, and over 100 singles and collaborations
with some of the scene's top artists including Optical, Matrix, Klute and Rob Playford among many others. In 2005 Dom started his own
label, Dom & Roland Productions which has sought to release the creme de la creme of d+b collaborations as well as being an outlet for
his own work.
An accomplished sound engineer, Dom has been fortunate enough to have co-produced and mixed some of the biggest 'classics' of the
drum and bass scene, including 'Subway' with Ed Rush, 'Mutant Revisited' and 'Sonar' with DJ Trace, as well as having enjoyed enormous
success with his own tracks 'Thunder', 'Imagination' and 'Can't Punish Me'.
Over the years Dom & Roland releases have been licensed for television and commissioned for several Playstation games. More recently
Dom has continued his passion for music by advising various music software companies including Native Instruments, contributing from a
producer's standpoint, helping push studio tools to the next generation.

Review: It's been a year since his last release ("Strobe/Goliath" on his own Dom & Roland label) but boy has it been worth the wait... "Unofficial Jah" is astoundingly dark and textured with myriad levels of precision processed sound design. Rich in every aspect, it's Dom and his trusty Roland at their finest. "Outta Ends" is equally stunning. Much more pummelling in its dynamic make up, there's a strong feeling to the dark drums and loopy vocal sample. Dom & Roland kills it every single time, but this one is particularly special. Do not miss out.
