Review: Dave Lee's Z Records looks back to go forward here as it offers up an effective new 12" of irresistibly well-informed cuts that borrow from big moments in dance music's past and reworks them with a contemporary twist. Kicking things off in fantastic fashion is Raven Maize's 'Forever Together' (Closer To The Source mix) which is part soulful and part classic house thanks to its iconic synth sequences and lovely warm vocals. Dave's Heavenly Star mix of 'One Kiss' is pure hip-swinging joy, while Joey Montenegro (who could that be?) offers two classic cuts on the flip side. 'Make A Move On Me' (original Disco mix) oozes cool with its zippy leads and timeless diva vocals and then a special 25th Anniversary Mix of 'Can't Get High Without U' closes with sumptuous disco house class.
