  3. C Da Afro - "Ultrafunk" (6:02)
  4. Djeko & K'you - "Money Don't Spend Me" (5:33)
Review: Super Spicy Records continues its run with great releases, with this second instalment of the Super Spicy Recipe proving a great compilation with big names of the disco scene rubbing shoulders with some super talented newcomers. On A1, we have Boogietraxx and Monsieur Van Pratt teaming up for the fantastic 'Sigueme', that brings a Latin flavour to the table, followed on A2 by Mexican disco master Hotmood and Italian star Gledd combining their superpowers to bring the maximum jazz spice to the recipe via 'I've Got Jazz'. On the flip, Greek edit master C. Da Afro salts this dish with some 'Ultrafunk', while last but not least, we have French duo Djeko & K'You applying some extra spice with 'Money Don't Spend Me'.

Review: Edit superstar C. Da Afro comes to Super Spicy Records fresh off the back of a series of big outings on labels like Tropical Disco, Samosa Records, Masterworks Music, and many more. Once again this increasingly vital studio whizz comes correct with a series of playful disco house bombs. 'Don't Give Up The Groove' plays with filters, layers up the funky riffs and soars on a diva vocal. 'Wantin' U' is a classic house tune with authentic old school production chops and 'Holding On' is a super sweet outside party tune for the warmer months. 'The Solo Groove' sends you home on some feel good strings that melt any heart.

  1. Full Level (5:47)
  2. Full Level (JB Boogie mix) (6:07)
Review: It's been an extremely busy year for Greek producer C Da Afro already, with smokin' hot releases recently dropped on Moiss Music, Love Harder, Sound Exhibitions and Samosa. Now he's kicking off the vinyl branch of SpinCat Music with the utterly joyous grooves of "Full Level". It's an 80s-soaked ray of sunshine with boogie in its heart and more classic motifs than you can shake an FM synth at. Keeping the era but switching the style, regular collaborator JB Boogie offers up a remix on the flip that sinks down deeper into the funk of the original, but not at the expense of those sugary sweet synth lines.

  3. C Da Afro & JB Boogie - "Latin Vibez" (6:11)
  4. Monsieur Van Pratt - "With You" (5:59)
Review: Set your phasers to disco, the Spincat label is back with more of that fired up, exquisitely edited goodness that makes you want to get down. First up on this various artists 12" is The Funk District, who keeps things heady and swooning on the Philly string busting 'Like A Bird On A Cage'. Hotmood, fresh from bringing the good stuff to Disco Fruit, is feeling feisty on the decidedly jacked up 'La La La'. It's an uptempo stomper with a relentless charge and a loopy flavour that could sit in a techno set as easily as a disco one. C Da Afro and JB Boogie team up to kick the B side off with 'Latin Vibez', which works in some choice 80s electro funk flavours amongst the driving disco beat.

  1. Hotmood - "You Are A Star" (6:37)
  2. C Da Afro - "So Good For Me" (6:03)
  3. Mitiko - "Back To Dance" (7:15)
  4. Loshmi - "Regah" (6:51)
Review: Get those party pumps greased up and don thine finest gladrags, it's time to hit the disco with the fruitiest bunch in town. By now you no doubt know about the level of quality you should be expecting from a Disco Fruit 12", and this second sampler doesn't disappoint. Label regulars are present and correct, with Hotmood kicking things off with the sultry, sizzling 'You Are A Star', while C Da Afro vamps things up with the kind of uptempo electro-disco that borders on hi-NRG. Mitiko slides into a slinky Balearic groove on 'Back To Dance', and Loshmi takes things in a more esoteric, jazz-inflected direction on standout cut 'Regah'.

  2. C Da Afro - "Time To Move" (6:03)
  3. Ziggy Phunk - "Space Ranger" (6:44)
  4. Alexny - "Umbele" (6:48)
Review: The See-Saw label calls up a hit list of disco edit dynamos to bring a little party rocking magic to their latest 12", leading in with the looped up funk of Hotmood. 'Seductive Look' is the perfect insistent groove to get lost in, which contrasts with the bold and feisty 'Time To Move' by C Da Afro. Keeping things mixed up on the B side, Ziggy Phunk brings something special in the pattering, bongo-laden roller 'Space Ranger'. Alexny rounds things off with the low slung thwack and transcendent sax of 'Umbele', a track humming with the energy of Afrobeat at its source.

Monsieur Van Pratt kicks off this third edition vinyl on Moiss Music with an electronic bolt of funk with More Love, Less Greed oozing funk and disco vibes to get your booty shaking. Castle queenside and Igor Gonya team up to bring you a groove of disco with its hypnotic vocals and use of clever strings this is all about that old school disco vibe. Review: With only a few months between releases, Tropical Disco have gone from zero to disco heroes in just over 18 months. And it's not hard to hear why; proper digging, chunky cuts and full dancefloor focus as the label founders Sartorial (Alex Sartori) and Moodena (Tim Burnett) invite two new label crewmates to the party deck; Phazed Groove and C Da Afro. Each sailor bringing a different vibe from pure, uncut boogie to thumping Chi-town jazz-licked house, it's yet another perfect voyage. Balmy army!

  4. C Da Afro - "Street Jam" (6:05)
Review: Tropical Disco marks hitting release number 20 with a brilliant four track various artists affair that offers up plenty of the colourful and cosmic disco sounds they have become so well known and loved for. Paul Older kick off with 'Nothing,' which is a rolling and trumpet laced jam to fill the floor. 'One For Frida' gets more deep and dubby, with more big horns but a flabbier and more silky groove to sink into. On the flip, it's all majestic leads and noodling solos for the twinkling disco sounds of the late night roller 'Shiva's Chant' while 'Street Jam' closes out in smooth, string laced and seductive fashion.
