This is a Juno Exclusive from French producer Djar One that lifts off and cruises all the way to Puerto Rico. "Oye Como Va" is the breakbeat fuelled a-side with huge funk drive, oodles of instrumental flair and lively percussive sounds that bring that vital world flavour. "Dance Dance" on the reverse is a quicker jam with Latin flair to spare. It trills with summery time joy and drives on kicking drums. The fun loving vocals are the irresistible finishing touch. Both of these cuts will blow up and club, wherever you are in the world.

Having sold out in record time a couple of months back, Phil Mison's latest album as Cantoma - an all-star affair featuring a wealth of guest vocalists and musicians - has been rapidly reissued, this time with a colour insert. Musically, "Into Daylight" is sweet and soft-focused, with the Balearic veteran prioritising seductively shuffling samba beats, dewy-eyed vocals, gentle melodies, dubby basslines and tactile instrumentation (think meandering trumpet solos, acoustic guitars, flutes, twinkling Rhodes solos and Pat Metheny style jazz guitar). It's the kind of album that warms you like a hug, soothing mind and body whilst providing enough slow-motion excitement to reward repeat listens.

Steve & Teresa - Catching A Wave
7"
$12.09
Since 2016, Aloha Got Soul has been on a mission to showcase overlooked and slept-on music from Hawaii. Later this year, the label will reissue Steve Maii and Teresa Bright's brilliant 1983 album "Catching a Wave", whose brilliant title track kicks off this must-check seven-inch. The track itself is impeccable, offering a humid Hawaiian take on the folk-soul sound made famous by Terry Callier. It's the kind of track that's best enjoyed while watching the sun set or rise, ideally over the Pacific Ocean. Over on the flip you'll find bluesy album cut "TAhuala", a hybrid jazz/folk/rock and roll hoedown with serious dancefloor potential.

Juno exclusive white vinyl repress.....Angie Stone's "Wish I Didn't Miss You" definitely belongs in the canon of all time modern soul classics. Taken from her 2001 second album Mahogany Soul, the Swizz Beats produced track made optimum usage of an O' Jays sample and was instrumental in that LP going gold and propelling the former D'Angelo collaborator to stardom. It also inspired countless official and under the counter remixes with Blaze's perhaps the most recognisable. Here pressed up on a limited white vinyl reissue of just 150 units on 7" from Outta Sight is worthy if you don't have the original in your collection and features a housed up remix from Hex Hector on the flip.

Milan based Take It Easy label and party is back. This third drop comes from label owners, Bugsy and DJLMP with the addition of the historical italian dj and Paradise Pizza's label owner Memoryman aka Uovo. After their big success "Watchin Out" and "Catch Me", The EP opens with an Afro-influeced sample stomper followed up by an afrobeat vocal tool by DJLMP. "I Wonder" open the B side with some crackly Detroit atmosphere by Memoryman aka Uovo. "Pomiri Dan" completes the set, percussive sample stomper by Bugsy on his first appearance on the label.

Blue Boy - Remember Me (remixes)
12"
$13.42
23 years have passed since Blue Boy (AKA Scottish producer Lex Blackmore) delivered one of the biggest club and radio hits of summer 1997, the Marlena Shaw-sampling "Remember Me". Here the familiar favourite is given a new lease of life via a pair of fresh 2020 re-rubs. David Penn steps up first, expertly layering sustained Wurlitzer organ chords, gospel-style, clipped disco guitars, piano riffs and the famous vocal sample over a thickset, 21st century house groove. Frank Rizaro's remix is even heavier, with Shaw's vocalizations riding a beat that's closer to tribal techno than deep house. The head-nodding, toe-tapping original 1997 mix completes a rock-solid package.

Special Request - Spectral Frequency EP
12"
$11.56
Having previously notched-up must-check Special Request releases on one vital rave-era record label, XL, Paul Woolford has now brought the hardcore and jungle-influenced project to another imprint that defined dance music in the early '90s, Belgian stable R&S Records. As you'd expect, he's in full-on bassbin-bothering, mind-mangling mode, with title track "Spectral Frequency" - a ruffneck, early jungle style workout with added intergalactic electronics - hitting home hardest of all. There's a bizarre (but kind of brilliant) backwards version ("Inverse Frequency") included on the A-side, before Woolford showcases the more melodious, ambient techno side of his multiple musical personalities on wonderfully warm and ear-pleasing flipside cuts "Family Doggo" and "No Other Way To See It".

This is a beautiful new project from Lucy Gooch (UK), Black Brunswicker (US) and zake (US)- Lucy Gooch's vocals become an ocean of loops and washes that float above the Black Brunswicker lap steel swells and zake drones.
