New Jersey house don Kerri Chandler is rightfully lauded as a hero of the scene. He continues to pour his heart and soul into every record and imbue his music with real-world emotions that elevate his tunes. He is of course a master of a deep but driving sound that borrows from soul, funk and jazz in ignitible ways. The third volume of his Lost & Found EP series on his own label Kaoz Theory is packed with more gold, from the slinky depths of 'Let It (Give Me Back My Love)' to the soul staring vocal work of 'Another Dawn' via more paired back sounds on 'The Bassline' (Kerri Dark mix) and the percussive energy of 'The Breeze.' Yet another essential Kerri 12" for your collection.

Swiss producer and DJ Lea Lisa gathers together some of her favorite tracks to play out with in a double pack compilation for Favorite Recordings. As you might be able to tell from some of the artists and tracks on here, Lea likes her house music deep, tracky, sometimes soulful and verging on proper techno. Featured here are key tracks like 'Ekeyz' from Pure Science, the club mix of 'Be There' by Kerri Chandler and 'Blax Thanxs' by Abacus. One very desirable addition is the early 90s gem 'Emotional' by Think. This very strong gathering of deep house tracks may be one of the best this year. Act quick and grab a copy.

Billy Idol's Rebel Yell reissue for its 40th Anniversary offers this 2CD set includes 13 bonus tracks, including the impressive 'Poolside Remix' of 'Eyes Without A Face' and the previously unreleased 'Best Way Out of Here'. Besides the other mega hits like 'Flesh For Fantasy', 'Catch My Fall', 'Rebel Yell' you have the amazing cover version of 'Love Don't Live Here Anymore' featured which is a big cult fan favourite for Billy. For fans eager to delve deeper into Billy Idol's iconic album, the reissue offers a chance to rediscover its timeless tracks and explore some hidden gems. Demo versions and remixes highlight the release on the second disc for those looking for unique versions of the songs.

Forax label head Diego Krause is back on his own imprint with a heavyweight new EP that is destined to be of great use to DJs looking to make an impact. It kicks off with 'Point Of No Return' which packs a low-end punch but not at the expense of some great details up top including sci-fi synth work and languid chords that bring the colour. 'Horizons' then keeps it funky with some swirling, filtered pads and percussive tech beats that are bouncy and fresh. Last of all is 'Analysis Paralysis' which is more edgy and features a brilliantly filthy low end that recalls the great Flat Eric.

Incense Music for Bed Room is a new compilation series from Incense Music that was curated by Toru Hashimoto and legendary Japanese downtempo and Balearic master Calm. It has been teased by a great little 7" and now the full album arrives and features Haruka Nakamura's beautiful tribute to Bill Evans' timeless piece 'Soiree', 'Valsa de Euridice', which is a rendition of Vinicius de Moraes' classic from Etepalma, the delightfully downtempo jazz sounds of Joe Barbieri's 'Leggera' and almost six-minutes of neo-classical piano bliss from Mia Doi Todd & Andres Renteria's 'Emotion.' A perfectly soothing tonic for these trying times.

Dave Lee's "AC Soul Symphony" alias has been releasing delectable and sultry disco since 2005 but reached his magnus opus in 2023 with the release of the Metamorphosis LP. Here we find two tracks handpicked from the album and delivered, for the first time, in a 7" format. The single starts much as the album does with the track "Windy City Theme", beautifully scored, recorded, and produced legato strings envelope the track, punctuated with horns and vocals reminiscent of a Love Unlimited Orchestra production. This version of the track has been rearranged, speeding up the pacing of the track and reaching the juicy parts in a really satisfying way. On the flip side we have the title track from the album Metamorphosis, which is the first time the vocal version has been made available on vinyl. A bass laden intro gives ways to glistening pianos and those signature strings (have we mentioned how good the strings are?). A more laid back and seductive track than the A-side, but no less appealing. Again, due to the limitations of the 7" format, 'Metamorphosis' has been expertly rearranged with loving care and attention.
