For those without a Masters in Chicago House History, Get Down Records was a short lived imprint overseen by Ed "Get Down" Crosby which surfaced in the late eighties. Crosby had his fingers in all the label's releases, either under his own name or the Get Down Gang, and it's the latter's four track You Belong To Me 12" which originally appeared in 1989 that Juno has managed to find in a warehouse! There's a primitive joy to the innocent grasp of machinery demonstrated on each of the different productions here which is absent from much contemporary house that attempts to ape this era - check the sick 303 modulations of the Chicago mix or the proto rave vibes of the Jesse Jones Street mix for evidence!
