Classic early house bangers don't come much more perfect than this. Bigger Than Life! originally dropped this bomb in 1988 and so you can easily get to grips with the kind of house the duo were about. What really makes "World Of Make Believe" is the strength of the vocals, but as the alternate mixes demonstrate there is a staggering amount of texture lurking in the midst of what initially sounds like a straight-up deep jacker. The metallic scrapes and spooky chants in the background create the kind of moodiness that no amount of production prowess can replicate.
