The full bodied half of the Mule organization get their jazz house pants on for this much anticipated album from Kuniyuki Takahashi. This kind of music's been off my radar for getting on seven years but it brings back some good memories. An extended nine track suite of live house music that manages to pull off that rare trick of sounding neither too muso nor too artificial. It has one hand buried in the good part of the eighties jazz fusion ala Pat Metheny and one hand punching out the
latinized rhythms that previously only Joe Clausell, Larry Heard and Kevin Chandler excelled at. With Clausell, Henrik Schwarz, Ian O'Brien and Luciano extolling this albums virtues on the cover sticker you know there's something good going on. Not our usual fare but a mighty fine slice of live jazz house vibrations.
