Brooklyn-based producer composer Christian Banks unveils his Walrus Ghost project with this LP for Project: Mooncircle, and it marks a noticeable move towards post-rock in amongst the usual electronic beat down styles of the German megalithic label. Opening track "Narrowing Circle" tells you all you need to know, whipping up all manner of instrumentation from live bass to guitar but all propelled by a flurry of expressive drumming. With a distinctly Autumnal lilt to it, the album revels in composition and progression that reaches to strings and wind instruments for sound sources but keeps those fundamentals of drums and guitars at the front of the mix to create a psychedelic but surefooted sound.
