That cheeky production team of Texans are back with another strictly wax-only EP of funky disco jams, disco reggae shenanigans and boogie bullets. Fans of the label include the likes of Greg Wilson, Faze Action, Al Kent, Mr Scruff and Danny Krivit and it's easy to see why as the Killer Funk Allstars tippy toe through their music collections, digging out obscure album tracks along side familiar but irresistible melodies. The aptly named Delicious Irony EP kicks off with "Rescue The Edit", a dancefloor friendly effort with a sample deftly lifted from the same boogie tune used by Funky 4 + 4 hip-hop gem "That's The Joint". Up next "Sly & Slobbie Reggae Disco" does exactly what is says on the tin with a dubbed out version of a Saturday Night Fever classic. On the flip, infectious vocals and charismatic string stabs lay open to "Is That A Firecracker In Your Pocket Harvey...", a lesser known but none less essential disco effort, while the EP closes on an unreleased version of a rare Italo boogie cut from 1982. Highly recommended.
