Obsolete records is a new label set up by Marcus Vector and Sammy Goossens, famous as Toys For Boys records A&R, producers and owners. Receiving more and more music, they decided it is time to start new branches. They launch two new labels Nomor and Obsolete. Obsolete is a label that sound is more melodic, trancey with deep atmospheres and grooves. The layout is colourful with strange photographs and crazy cut ups of urban landscapes. Obsolete is situated in the minimal area of things, but with a more house edge to it! Release number one is a three tracks EP by Vernon Bara (aka Lust Addict). Vernon Bara is well know for his house releases with partner Da Costa. He delivers three crazy minimal tunes with complex breaks and emotional atmospheres and Jambi gives a remix of the title track "Velvet Rape" , in a pure Berlin sounding style. A side opens up with "Velvet Rape", a cool extremely well crafted slice on minimal house with otherworldly vocal snippets. Next up is "Falsa Alegria", a flowing upbeat minimal house track to keep things bumpin' & rocking. On the flip, Obsolete calls in the help of Berlin hero Jambi (Contexterrior/Junion/District Of Corruption) who fiddles round with the vocals of "Velvet Rape" to come up with a supreme DJ tool. A real treat. To top things off nicely, there's the beauty of "Gone Straight" with a deeper than deep sub bass & hypno FX & repetitive screetches that make this an immediate anthem. Watch out for future Obsolete release by Lazy Fat People (Border Community, Planet-E).
