A hugely impressive debut here from French beatsmith Helixir. A richly textured, droning soundcsape is created in the introduction and this careful, lush vibe is maintained throughout Undivided. "Summertime" has the shimmering quirks of a Flaoting Points but on a more overtly dubsetp tip, while tracks like "Atlantis" bring to mind the muddy, compressed work of Actress. Such comparisons miss the point to an extent though, as Helixir has very much cultivated his own sound, which is at times, at times dark, but always fascinating and deeply rewarding. Listening from track one to the twinkling lullaby close of "I've (Never) Wanted To Hurt You" is a magical experience. Thoroughly recommended stuff.
