Self-confessed "dreamwave" adventurer Slow Magic comes to CD for the first time, after a smattering of cassette releases. "Triangle" is in many ways typical of the mysterious producer's attractive sound, a mix of Sorcerer/White Diamond-ish West Coast Balearica, winding slow house and tumbling downtempo groovery. Highlights are plentiful, from the purple-goes-Balearic bliss of "Feel Flows" and skittering, synth-laden electronica of "Youths", to the woozy guitars and odd rhythms of "Moon" and unbridled joy of opener "Corvette Cassette". The rhythms and instrumentation may change throughout, but the sun-kissed atmospherics remain throughout. It's that, rather than his impeccable compositional skills, that makes Triangle a delicious listen.
