New York Imprint Thema have always stuck to their guns when it comes to their no frills, no fad musical output and label concept. Now on their 23rd vinyl release, they welcome Norm Talley to the ever growing team of talented and original artists to be signed to Thema. Norm Talley has been belting out flawless and deeply funky music since the mid nineties and his classic synths, rough drums and analogue imperfection stream through his music; "Transmissions" plays exactly that game. Opener "Man On The Moon" sets the tone with techno drums and broken beats, leading the EP confidently into the second track "Pulsate" and its funky rhythms and delirious basslines. On the flip "Space Travla" turns a corner into more cosmic territories with stuttering bass and synths that shoot through late night space. Last but by no means least, "Tell Me"(Late Night Creeper Mix) beams with toms, reverbing bass and a groove that projects the whole EP into seriously high class levels and makes it one of our favorites of the week at Juno.
