A thrilling collection of tunes from Belgian producer Dopefish, who really steps up to the big leagues with the funky/electro crossover, "The Wasp". Dopefish's original keeps the drums distinctly studio, with punchy kicks balancing a hectic set of gliding synths a la Afrojack or Laidback Luke, while Emvee brings out the funky wholeheartedly - adding organic, live snares and percussion and winding the brief vocal clips into dizzying delayed patterns. Dopefish's own "UK funky edit" is nothing to sniff at either, while the slo-mo disco of "Chemtrails" and the chunky, Surkin-like stomp of "Blood Comb Jelly" only make this an even stronger release.
