With nascent strains of US house music very much in vogue among British producers right now, long running Moodmusic pull an interesting twelve inch out of the bag here as Us producers Tyree Cooper and Bobby Starr collaborate under the Jack The Box banner. Cooper should need no introduction for anyone checking the house music section on Juno and while Bobby Starr is a relative newcomer in comparison, the three tracks here demonstrate a clear studio chemistry. Lead track "The Way We Walk" hogs the A Side, belting out a classicist house refrain, deftly slipping in and out of the heavy drums to allow the burning synth tones the chance to fully captivate. Lady Blaktronika lends her vocals to "Got You" a track that slips down the tempo scale slightly but still builds nicely from it's sparse groove of a beginning, while "AG3" showcases their dual craft for DJ tools with aplomb.
