Early in his career, Lithuanian producer Dariius Beinoravicius (try saying that after a few too many light ales) was regarded as something as a progressive house star in waiting. In recent years, he's shifted focus, and here delivers an album rich with warm compositions and melody-rich downtempo grooves. While you can hear his prog past in the atmospherics and attention to detail, The Trip isn't a prog album, or even an ambient album with delusions of grandeur. Instead, it's packed with the kind of glowing electronica and sun-warm downtempo beats that should impress all those who like their grooves sun-kissed and Balearic.
