Ok, so this is pretty f****** special! While it's obvious to state that Jamal Moss's Mathematics Recordings is one of the best outlets for contemporary house and techno from the Western hemisphere, the arrival of new material from The Faces Of Drums (Moss and Steve Poindexter) is quite special, given the latter has become something of a rarity around the shelves. All three tracks are straight-up Chicago nastiness which had apparently been lost until now: "The Lost Tracks 1" is a raw-as-hell pipebomb full of natural distortion and flanger business, "The Lost Tracks 2" is wonky and boasts a mean low-end bump, while "The Lost Tracks 3" is more sluggish and corpulent but nonetheless jacking and vicious in nature. Absolutely recommended.
