Brazilian Gui Boratto is now an established member of the Kompakt family, with a relationship that stretches back to 2006. His latest missive for the German imprint comes in the shape of The Drill, a two piece EP that nods towards stomping techno and screams for peak time play. The title track roars with a full bassline and simple yet powerful drums, its headstrong kick no doubt set to fuel many a dark and marching dancefloor. On the flip "Stems From Hell" is classic Boratto in style and execution; ascending chords and tense soundscapes that leave little room for anything but sweat-drenched mayhem.
