Gothenburg electro devotee Lukas Karl Pettersson aka Luke Eargoggle drops his six track The Datamagi EP for German imprint Abstract Forms. All six cuts brim with Model 500 insignia as acid squirts splat above dreamy chords and futuristic vocals. The bleeps of "Automatic Voyage" transverse through a minefield of resonating acid blobs while "Elements Of Dimension" makes you feel like a burrowing lemming about burst. The stubborn sequencing of "Find A Land" creates an enjoyable off kilter groove whereas "Racing For Titles" quickens as flinched drums and rim shots ping and pong in time to a hard edge acid bass line. "The World Won't Listen" employs noisy snare splashes and stepped synth patterns while Eargoggle pays homage to his latest label in "Abstract Forms", rounding off the EP perfectly.
