Always a sturdy outpost for moody house music, Slow To Speak and its faithful sub-label Dope Jams unearths the expressive and adventurous side to a largely homogonised and functional music genre. The track that Neotnas has conjured up for this single-sided release is a very striking beast indeed, creeping forth on an immersive fog of bass and pads melded into one wraith-like humming, while Four By Fog's vocal surprisingly works over the top with an almost indie charm. Alluring and mysterious and yet still built to mix, this is the kind of track single-sided 12"s were made for.
