It Hurts vinyl

This is a curious split EP from Midnight Shift, pitting one Terrence Parker track alongside three from Simon Hinter (although one of these is a remix). Not that it matters, as four top shelf deep house offerings on one slab of wax can be no bad thing. Parker's "It Hurts" finds him in a particularly romantic mood, all sustained strings and heavy emotions over a steady chugging beat, while Hinter's A side jam "Leave" is a sumptuous jazz-inflected slice of stripped down house, with delicious piano licks and rubbery bass notes. Philogresz remixes that track into a more mechanical tech-house growler, and then Hinter follows up with the deeper, searching tones of "Finding Home".
