Cover versions: sometimes they're an insult to the original. Other times they open up a whole new life for it. This cheeky 7" definitely falls in the latter category. Originally written by Winfield Scott for Peggy Lee, both versions here are refreshingly creative takes that conjure up the spirits of decades gone by. Heppinstall's take is dusty and daring with horns blazing and organs gallivanting across the chorus while Lonnie Sattin's version is a much more sultry, jazz-tinged affair. Both are fantastic.
