In recent months Vernon and Dacosta have appeared on Robsoul, Aroma and Homecoming as well delivering remixes for the Lost My Dog and Kinjo imprints. The Belgian duo add to a busy year with this twelve inch, a second release on Ray Okpara's AMA that's filled with typically chunky deepness and comes backed with a remix from Mr. Sascha Dive. The stripped back groove of "Surrender" is propelled by rhythmic vocal loops and crisp jacking beats that pummel the scratched bassline throughout. This is complemented by the far bumpier "About Our Music" which drops some dubbed Rhodes melodies over ascending Detroit style pads, with a vintage spoken word turn adding that classic house element. It's the latter track that gets the Sascha Dive treatment on the flipside with the locked groove augmented by heavily treated phasing and liquid echo on the vocal elements and vague hints of tribal chanting.
