Japanese DJ/producer Muro has been round the block a few times in the last 42 years, but continues to impress with his impeccable crate digging and DJ skills. Having previously offered up essential disco, hip-hop and soundtrack mixes, here he returns to his first love: funk and jazz. Super Jazz Breaks 2 is in many ways typical of Muro's previous CDs. It features little or no information about the 25 choice cuts mixed up in his tight, floor-friendly style, and there's barely a recognizable break or groove in sight. Musically, it's terrific, surprising and - of course - hugely enjoyable. Crate diggers will love trying to work out the source material; the rest of us can just sit back and enjoy the ride.
