With plentiful releases on Wolf Music, Sounds Of Sumo and the like, Squarehead is on the rise in the UK house scene, and with his skillful hand in dishing out 90s garage house heat it's no surprise. "Bats" is a dubby affair with a prominent bass line and strung out vocal hooks that itches to burrow into the deeper corners of the night, while Jack Fell Down brings the noise with a raucous remix that maximizes on tough drums and a sparse arrangement that leaves the rhythm section's indentation in your ear socket. "Parrish" is a shuffling masterclass in swinging house music with attitude, like the dark underbelly of a Strictly Rhythm record. "WRK" meanwhile gets into a techier frame of mind and brings a worthwhile additional dimension to the EP.
