What a great Japanese only reissue! As far as we know this supreme jazz dance classic never came out as a single, apart from on a 12" sampler via the Counterpoint label 12 years back. The track itself was taken from the Creation One album on the USA label Thimble and can fetch several hundred pounds when you can actually find a copy! Tried and trusted by the jazz dance DJ elite, the track was a firm favourite with the likes of Gilles Peterson and Patrick Forge during the heady days of legendary weekly sessions at Dingwalls. A great vocal and infectious vocal is underpinned by killer percussion and a memorable brass lines, while the Star Dish mix attempts to update the track with a somewhat heavier club feel. Nothing short of essential.
