Luciano's label notches up another killer crossover EP. Like much of Cadenza's output, the strength of Slinger lies in Dietz's ability to integrate live influences into pared back club grooves. On "Pandemic", he achieves this through the use of a dramatic spy soundtrack bass and lithe ivory tinkling, which is underscored by doubled up beats and insistent claps. "Red Tops" is more soulful as a smoky male vocalist pours out his heart to the backdrop of swinging, jazzy drums, while the Amesons dub provides a more stripped back take on the original track, with a focus on the heavy bassline.
