Despite coming from the maverick mind of eccentric genius Maurice Fulton, this third Boof full-length was criminally overlooked when it first came out digitally earlier in the year on his own Bubbletease imprint. Major props, then, to Gerd Jansen's Running Back imprint for rescuing it from obscurity and pressing up this CD version. It's in many ways typical of Fulton's work, mixing gorgeous piano flourishes and inventive percussion with distinct electro-jazz, deep house and dub disco influences. It's perhaps more obvious musical than some of his output, but that's a good thing; as an album, it's a far more enjoyable and rewarding listen than, say, his Syclops work. If you missed out first time round, dive in.
