Carl Craig makes a welcome return, this time out in his Tres Demented guise on this new 12" for his own Planet E imprint. "Shez Satan" centers on a twisted, very-Cajmere-like male vocal, backed by Carl's bed of searing analog keys, rumbling bass, and chunky, clapping beats. The instrumental drops the vocal headliner in favour of some soaring guitar licks, with the grinding analog elements still well in play. On the reverse, the tweaked out analog techno continues with "Brain Freeze", as driving analog keys, crisp techno beats, stellar percussion, and a stabbing breathy male vocal all combine before some late-arriving atmospheric synth top the whole thing off.
