Having impressed with two immaculate EPs of gorgeous, melody-driven post-dubstep fusions (the delightfully organic "Fleur" being particularly noteworthy), it's nice to see Praveen and Machinedrum reunited for a Sepalcure full-length. The genius in their work lies not in their combination of garage, techno, IDM and dubstep production techniques, but rather their ability to infuse each of their tracks with exactly the right amounts of melody, atmosphere and dancefloor punch. There are notably more straight-up dancefloor moments on Sepalcure than previous 12" releases - see the tropical rhythms of "The One" or piano-laden jam "Yuh Nuh See" - but they never lose sight of their melodic raison d'etre. As a result, Sepalcure is a rather special album indeed
