The only information we're given concerning this release is that it was "written and recorded by Jack Curtu somewhere in south Italy". And why would we need anything more when the music speaks so vigorously on its own? Lux Rec, a fledgling independent label from Switzerland which has been delivering consistent doses of techno, acid and electro wax, welcomes Curtu on its platform, The producer introduces himself with a raw, grinding electro bassline which surrounds itself amid irregular drums, washing hi-hats and a haunting scream which lurches forwards and backwards between the beats. The second track removes the electro from the equation and introduces the odd acid squelch driven by a tough, analogue-fuelled drum machine workout. The flipside immediately points towards the 303, where a harsh and crispy beat arrangement is topped with a mass of reverb and acid drips. As the title suggests, there is no way out!
