Almost 35 years since Floyd Lawson released his first record, on Motown no less, Record Kicks have corralled him back into the studio for these two new super-funky tunes, led by the rollicking good times of "Roof Top Sugar". Bearing all the hallmarks of an old-cat and not a new-jack, Lawson's delivery is casual and assured as he urges everyone to get on the rooftop, over a raw, Brainfreeze-esque drum break.
