Rainer Trueby has been writing and releasing records since the late nineties as part of the experimental nu-jazz band Truby Trio. Compost Black Label #82's' "Jeck" has an immediate spring in its otherwise dark stride with a rubbery bass line and ricocheting claps. Evolving with every new linear rim shot, shimmering cymbals crash and rhythmic bongos tap, "Jeck" manages to capture your attention from start to finish. On remix duty is deep house artist Marcus Wurgull; increased pitch and tempo, plus the introduction of a snarling and dark bass line, makes for a hazy, after hours feel. Rainer's second track "Welcome To Our World" takes on a sultry blues edge and nods towards the Truby Trio as bass guitar licks fuel unbeatable Rhodes keys and vocals.
