Best known as Presk, Amsterdam-based Pieter Willems made his debut under the mantle on the Ten Thousand Yen label back in 2011 with the Love Again EP, one of a number of lovingly presented records that nestled snugly in the crawlspace between garage, broken house and dubstep during the pre-bass music era. Since then Willems' bass focused brand of club music has graced 2020 Midnight Visions, Fourth Wave and hometown club-turned-label hub Audio Culture. More recently the Presk project has been put on ice whilst Willems focused on Will & Ink, a collaborative project with Felix Lenferink that has resulted in a pair of distinctive records filled with heads down techno. A return to Ten Thousand Yen under the revived Presk guise is most welcome here, with Saluki already a favourite of the gelled up Numbers supremo Jackmaster. The four-track EP continues to showcase Willem's sound under the Presk mantle which combines a "bruk shuffle with a natural ?flare for techno".
