    Review

After countless releases stretching back to a debut drop from Greg Wilson back in 2006, the classy Redux imprint switch up tactics with the first in a series of various artist Pick & Mix EPs. It's a fine debut too, that stretches across the disco globe from Australia to New York via London. Proceedings commence with NYC duo Drrtyhaze, no strangers to Redux, who hog the A Side with the elongated disco house delight of "Get Down To Your Body". It is however overshadowed by the contribution from Mankind, last seen on 3rd Strike and claiming to be "beamed to Atlanta from a passing interstellar cruiser" and now seemingly residing in London. Taking on the same Alexander O Neal classic that was recently reworked to such devastating effect by Maxxi Soundsystem might seem foolish, but the Mankind treatment on "Marimba On Toast" swerves down some demented Maurice Fulton path and is totally different in execution. Finally, Pete Herbert teams up with Melbourne's Golden Fleece on the bumping slap bass odyssey "Inter Stella".
