Pause has a rich, analogue lead line that underpins the whole groove, slowly evolving, flitting between octaves and driving the track forward. At only 122bpm there is real feeling of space, allowing the carefully balanced drums and highly detailed percussive loops to add urgency and detail. Soulful yet haunting chords are worked into the arrangement, intertwining with the lead line to reach a sweaty, euphoric peak. Isolee deconstructs Will's chords, initially only using two from the full sequence, allowing him the musical freedom to switch effortlessly from lush melodic pads to acid laced stabs. Isolee' s unparalleled attention to detail creates a slow burning and truly hypnotic deep house groove that is as much for the head as it is for the feet.
