This Park Days EP from JTC marks the expansion into dedicated artist releases for Mancunian club night and label Hoya:Hoya, whose previous releases have been split EPs that collated material from Ikonika, Eliphino, Ras G and the aforementioned trio of Lone, Illum Sphere and Krystal Klear. JTC is of course one alias used by the multi talented Tadd Mullinix, also recording under the Dabrye, SK-1, Charles Manier and James T Cotton aliases as well as several collaborative projects with fellow Nation luminaries D'Marc Cantu and Melvin 'Traxx' Oliphant III. Four tracks in total; each one highlights just how deep Cotton's scope and abilities go. Cuts such as "Argo" and "Cereal" both resonate with icy Detroitian synths that ripple over crafty beatwork that hints at his very early days as a junglist on Rephlex. "South Brooks" and "Gallup", meanwhile, show an altogether deeper, more house-inclined side to the producer. The former is especially jacking.
