If you have your head screwed on right you'll need little in the way of encouragement to grip the latest Future Times 12" that sees Max D doing it right, but for those that require their heads realigned read on. Not only does this twelve brandish one of the best track titles of the year so far in "Orgies Of The Hemp Eaters," the two Max D jams within find the DC dweller on typically tropical form, with the title track twisting some vintage Sakamoto strings between a heady melange of thick bass and odd drums that snap like Elaine Benes dancing. Complementing this, "Slick" playfully toys with the gentlest of twinkling melodies over a rippling drum machine groove that shifts in and out of focus. Do check the Can't Get Enuff refix of "Hem Eaters" from LIES White Label graduate Terreke which transforms Dunbar's work into a woozy smudged out sideways jacker. Things will be better in Future Times!
