This tasty 7" single should raise the spirits of funk and soul diggers the world over. The A-side, a chunk of gravel-throated funk-soul brilliance smothered in jazzy guitar solos and vibraphone flourishes, has never before seen the light of day. Given the high esteem in which Alabama soul man O.C Tolbert is held - and rightly so, given the quality of his work during the '70s and '80s, much of which has only come to light in the past two decades - it should fly off the shelves. On the flip you'll find an instrumental version credited to Motown session man Dave Hamilton, whose slick guitar and vibraphone solos naturally come to the fore.
