The Glenview imprint returns to last year's Music Under New York edits LP from Istanbul's finest disco edit export Onur Engin, lifting perhaps the album centrepiece for a twelve inch release that comes with some stellar remixes. Engin's understated brush work to the Bill Evans track "Night Images" lifted it from its modal jazz origins into a delightfully dusty beatdown gem, and the beauty of the remixes from Nicholas, Vakula and Volta Cab each takes the track in all new directions. Nicholas follows with the finely sprung house rendition which recalls the masterful "Deep Burnt" from Pepe Bradock, basing the track around that orchestral motif which builds with a delightful sensation approaching infinity. Vakula's effort is a typically out-there tribalistic techno jam, merging weirded out vocal embellishments with hollowed out drum patterns and percolating low sub bass which pushes the orchestral arrangements of Evans' original deep, deep below. Not to be outdone, Russian producer Volta Cab lays down a killer beatdown groove which acts as the backdrop to all manner of sampledelica.
