The Killer Funk Allstars Big Band are the house band of the Killer Funk label run by studio engineer Texas Toni. "New Beginning" is a big band brass attack on your senses, with an unreleased edit that in its original form stretched for over 11 minutes with an overload of solos. The edit respectfully nips and tucks the less indulgent elements of the original, concentrating on the drum and big brass band elements of the track. On the flipside, "Home Cookin" delivers a tasty meal of spicy drums and super sized portion brass, with b-boy drum breaks and screaming Hammond organ.
