Being selected to produced the second Power Plant release after it launched in such fine style with the Flowerhead EP from label boss La Fleur last year must rank up there with the most unenviable of tasks! However the Swede may have chosen a worthy successor in the shape of young Dane Jesper whose debut release shows a refined approach to production that belies a lack of releases."Godt Begyndt" floats between gentle, aqueous ambient ripples and skipping house rhythms. It has that uniquely Danish approach to electronic production that was most recently seen on the Taragana Pyjarama - all shimmering melodies gently coaxing your senses in. The accompanying remix from La Fleur comes indelibly stamped with the dancefloor in mind, beefing up the piano melodies and laying down a thick house beat. Check "Nature Boy" on the flip for further example of Ryom's obvious talent, with abstracted crystalline textures moulded to form the rhythmic thrust beneath a stripped down metallic crunch.
