The second release on Nathan Fake's collaborative label venture finds the Border Community regular flying solo with a set of heartfelt experiments that head into new territory for the ever-roaming electronica artist while sounding undeniably like him. "Fortune Bru" works around a simple, delicate electro beat pattern as a basis for rich and shimmering synth lines to unfurl, while "Nuuk" takes a moodier route into its own harmonious reverie. The chords slowly open out with a gleefully grainy texture to them, drifting into ever more expressive territory that rivals a certain Aphex Twin for sheer jaw-dropping melodic grace. In its simplicity it makes for one of Fake's most immediate and charming releases to date.
