It's fair to say Mumdance has bossed it in 2014, pairing up with Pinch for one of the year's definitive mix CDs, starting a new weightless grime movement with Logos via their Different Circles label, and delivering one of the year's best singles in his Novelist collaboration. A definitive year for Mumdance ends here with a rather tasty 12" for Unknown To The Unknown that sees two digital weapons in "Springtime" and "Its Peak" get a deserved vinyl pressing, but it's not actually these tracks that provide the central attraction. On the flipside are 20 locked grooves for adventurous DJs to implement and deploy creatively - think masonry drills, birdsong, laughter, bubbling toms and other strange effects. Probably the weirdest Unknown To The Unknown moment yet, and that's saying something.
