Modeselektor Presents Modeselektion Vol 03 CD

Modeselektor's Modeselektion series has always stood out from the competition, if only because of its' unmixed nature. It is, pure and simple, an excuse for the eccentric German duo to showcase music they're feeling at any given time (or, as they put it: "whatever we think is hot"). This third volume in the series - the first to run to two discs - is pleasingly eclectic, finding space for grumpy indie-rock from The Fall and exotic Middle Eastern dancefloor gold from Omar Souleyman (re-edited by Modeselektor, of course), alongside modern gems from the likes of Henrik Schwarz, Nosaj Thing and French Fries. Despite the disparate nature of the tunes - think post-dubstep, deep house, IDM, bass anthems and off-kilter ambience - Modeselektion Vol 3 hangs together surprisingly well, delivering on-point selections throughout.
