Belfast duo South West Seven provide a quality response to the critical acclaim for their debut release on the Detroit based Kolour imprint - arising on fledgling German house label Carry On with the sumptuous grooves of "Mels Pockets". Plenty of mid tempo disco flecked house movers arrive at Juno every week but few build with such effortless aplomb, and what impresses further is how South West Seven rhythmically weave the woozy piano sample at the core to create different momentums. On the B Side disco deviant Pete Herbert opens proceedings with a remix that ups the bass markedly, with a neon rhythmic flex reminiscent of his work with Baby G as LSB. This dovetails nicely with the decidedly deeper refix from FOTO boss OOFT which opts for an introspective low end acid rumble far removed from the source material. Presented on a neat two tone sleeve design that houses some equally fine emerald green vinyl!
